For example, on a recent project, Akima Construction Services, LLC’s partnering efforts resulted in value engineering modifications that saved 40% in construction costs. Akima excels at executing complex and challenging projects. An example of such work is the design and installation of chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear (CBRN) HVAC filtration systems in historical government buildings in the Washington, DC area. Space constraints and security requirements required innovation to meet our clients’ needs. Akima designed, fabricated, installed, and commissioned this highly complex system, coordinating with four federal agencies and the building tenants to complete all work at night, so as not to disturb congressional sessions, and deliver on schedule.

In response to Hurricane Katrina, Akima procured, delivered, and installed 450 modular classrooms at 18 locations in 42 days. We overcame numerous obstacles in a disaster environment to complete the fast-track project three days ahead of schedule.
