Herndon, VA – Akima announced that Sunik, an Akima Company, has been awarded a contract to provide operations and maintenance support services for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. The award has a five-year period of performance and a total contract value of approximately $13.6 million.

The ERRC was designated as a National Historic Chemical Landmark in 2007.
“It is an honor to support a USDA facility with both historical significance and a critical mission to protect the welfare of American agriculture and all consumers,” said Scott Rauer, President of Akima’s Facilities Solutions Group. “This contract further validates our ongoing commitment to ensuring the operations of our nation’s most critical scientific and military facilities.”
The work to be performed on the contract includes facility support services, logistics, operations and maintenance, and other professional services. The Akima portfolio of companies also provides similar support for the USDA Western Regional Research Center in Berkeley, CA.
