Herndon, VA — Akima today announced that its subsidiary, Sunik, has been awarded a contract to support the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) J4 and Special Operations Forces Acquisition Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) with the implementation and maintenance of the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) Warehouse, Maintenance & Utilization (M&U), Registry, Property Accountability, Force Management, and Materiel Management modules across all Special Operation Forces’ (SOF) supply support activities. The estimated value of the contract is $23.9 million over five years if all options are exercised.

“DPAS plays a significant role in the facilitation of rapid and focused acquisition, technology, and logistics support to today’s warfighters,” said Scott Rauer, President of Akima’s Facilities Solutions Group. “We are pleased to provide the USSOCOM J4 with an experienced team of experts to ensure the operational readiness of this mission critical system.”

Under this contract, approximately 30 to 50 support personnel will deliver materiel management services across the SOF Enterprise, including locations in Tampa, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky.  Additionally, the Sunik team will meet the three imperatives for providing the command with professional services support:

  • Stability—Retaining high quality and applicable institutional knowledge and minimizing workforce turbulence
  • Agility—Managing a professional workforce in a dynamic environment that evolves at the “speed of SOF”
  • Reach—Applying the network and knowledge of the entire enterprise of the team
